Public Investment Corporation (PIC) - Isibaya Fund Private Equity

The purpose of the Isibaya Fund Private Equity Fund is to generate income and capital appreciation by making investments across all sizes of entities: early-stage venture capital, small, medium and large-sized unlisted companies that are located in South Africa and the rest of the African continent. The minimum amount of funding they provide for private equity is R20m.

They invest across all sectors except:

• Gambling.
• Ammunition.
• Sin industries.

Eligibility criteria

• Your business must have a minimum of a BBBEE level 3.
  
• You have sufficient security which may include company or project assets and/or security by sponsors and project.
  
• Your business’ cash flow is robust. 
  
• Investment in your business will yield significant developmental impact.
  

Application process

To apply for funding you are required to register online to obtain a username and password which will be sent to you via an email address of your choice. Once logged in you are required to complete the application in full and attach the required documentation to support your application. Your application will not be considered if all required documents are not attached.

Please note that depending on the application and other factors, an application can take a minimum of three to six months from receipt to approval of the transaction by the PIC.
