Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) - Commercialisation Support Fund

The Pre-Commercialisation Support Fund assists existing or potential individual entrepreneurs and SMMEs to obtain funding to support pre-commercialisation activities, including the development of production/service capacity to levels that will support operational sustainability. 

This further includes market testing and validation of the technology in the potential customer environment, as well as bridging finance in preparation for commercialisation. A key aspect of this fund is to prepare innovators for follow-on funding through support for market testing and validation.

• Higher education institutions.
• Science councils.
• SMMEs.
• Startup companies.

The fund can be used for the following:

• Production of market samples.
• Support for certification activities.
• Market testing and validation.
• Regulatory approval.
• Certification activities.
• PBR registration.
• Business plan development.

Qualifying criteria

• You have, or are about to have, an off-take agreement or third-party follow-on funding commitment.
